Key Take Aways from the Video for the Agency Owner:
-Building a great business means, removing yourself from working in the business. It is hard when the day comes and your people do not need you in the day to day operations. There is an emotional low, but you need to realize that your role needs to change to setting the vision and direction of the company. Only now can you have scale and extreme growth.
Demand must dedicate hiring. Only hire because of growth is requiring it.
Hire for culture. Who will be successful in your environment. Hire someone that has discipline.
-Form a Board of Directors. Set the time commitment with them which is usually once a quarter, take them out to lunch and pay them.
-Board is there to tear you down and lift you up.
-Surround yourself with people that have been there and done that so you can learn from their mistakes and successes.
-Sell on value and not price.
-Know where you want to go and set yourself for success
-Knowing when the business out grows people and make the change. Whether it be your partner or long time employee. Both parties will be happier in the long run.
-Setup breakfasts and lunches everyday with people you can learn from and better yourself.
-Become the best you that you can and sometimes that is not comfortable.
-You grow once you understand that you don’t have to do everything and you give away responsibility.
