If your expenses align with the income, you’re not really scaling. You’re just growing a service business. But can it be done in service space? The answer is yes and no.
Scaling is being able to grow 80% more but adding only 30% of the expenses. The rest of it is ensured by the efficiency that enables you to have more profit. So whether or not you can scale your service business depends upon how you can look at the product and service that you provide.
For example, here at Clickx, we have very limited services and we do an amazing job because we use so much of our own technology. We are able to grow and scale like a software company because most of what we do is driven by our own tools and not person-dependent.
That said, having an enormous budget is not necessarily an answer. You want to have the right tools, systems, and processes to be able to scale. So first and foremost, answer the most important question: is your product/ service actually scalable? Because sometimes it’s just not (for example, a service like copywriting – it’s not scalable).
